More Than Tutoring

Spivey Education was founded on the belief that meaningful academic support should feel personal.

As educators, we have seen firsthand that students learn best when they feel understood, supported, and confident in their ability to grow. Every student brings a unique combination of strengths, challenges, goals, and learning experiences; our approach is built around understanding those individual needs and providing thoughtful, student-centered support.

Based in Oconee County, Spivey Education provides personalized math tutoring, SAT preparation, and academic programming designed to help students strengthen both skills and confidence over time.

We believe effective academic support is about more than improving grades or test scores. It is about helping students develop understanding, independence, resilience, and the confidence to succeed long after a tutoring session or test is over.

Personalized academic support rooted in relationships, trust, and meaningful student growth.

Meet Adam Osborne

I founded Spivey Education after more than a decade of working with students in classrooms, on athletic fields, and through one-on-one academic support.

Over the years, one thing became increasingly clear to me; students are far more likely to grow when they feel known, supported, and confident in the person teaching them.

That belief continues to shape every part of Spivey Education.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education from the University of Georgia, a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Columbus State University, and a Doctorate in Education from Southern Wesleyan University. My professional background includes teaching mathematics at both the middle school and high school levels throughout Northeast Georgia.

But more than credentials, I value relationships.

I believe strong academic support should feel personal, encouraging, and built around the individual student rather than a one-size-fits-all system. Whether I’m working with students through math tutoring, SAT prep, or academic programming, my goal is always the same; helping students build confidence, understanding, and independence over time.

Outside of education, I enjoy spending time with my wife, our three children, and our pets here in Oconee County. We are also excited to be expecting our fourth child in September 2026.

I’m grateful to do work that allows me to invest in students, families, and the community we call home.

Why “Spivey”?

Spivey Education was named in honor of my grandfather, Sergeant Major James “Jim” Spivey Null, whose example continues to shape the values behind this work.

He believed deeply in integrity, perseverance, hard work, and showing up for people consistently. Some of the principles he lived by were simple; don’t lie, don’t steal, and don’t quit.

Those values continue to influence the way I approach both education and relationships with students and families.

At its core, Spivey Education is about more than tutoring or test preparation. It is about building trust, supporting growth, and showing up consistently for the people we serve.

Rooted in Community

Spivey Education was built with a long-term vision: to become a trusted educational resource for students and families in Oconee County and the surrounding area.

I’ve never been interested in building the largest tutoring company possible. My goal is to build something personal, relationship-driven, and genuinely helpful to the families we serve.

I believe there is real value in local relationships, consistent support, and educators who truly know the students and families they work with.

That community-centered approach shapes every part of Spivey Education, from one-on-one tutoring sessions to SAT preparation plans and academic programming partnerships with schools and organizations.

Outside of tutoring, I value opportunities to invest in the local community through service, educational partnerships, and organizations like Rotary.

My goal is that, over time, families think of Spivey Education not simply as a tutoring service, but as a trusted part of their long-term educational support system.
